Almost there!

Bags packed, list ticked and all ready to go.  We are flying into snowy Zurich and then heading off to the French countryside.

We are travelling light this time......after leaving a trail of clothes around Europe on our last trip (in order to fit in our souvenirs).  We all have 3 outfits each - eekkk!  It was hard , but we have one whole empty suitcase to fill with goodies.  Yes one large suitcase!  We will also take advantage of post this time, and will certainly be posting back any heavy items (although in non-English speaking countries this is quite a task).

I have a huge list of craft markets, must see stores, vintage stores, fabric stores, textile manufacturers and wonderful Scandinavian design stores to visit - plus fit in the must-sees that our 5 year old has compiled.  I have found a wonderful design and Architecture museum so that will certainly be a highlight for me  - you can take the girl out of Architecture but you can't........well you know how the saying goes!

Next time we post we will be in the Northern Hemisphere, the cold snowy Nothern Hemisphere!

Oslo Christmas Markets

The Oslo Christmas Markets started yesterday.  We will be in Oslo in about 10 days and can't wait to visit, although the photos below make becoming a vegetarian a real possibility.

6 Sleeps!

6 sleeps til we head off on our next adventure!  Below are some glimpes of my favourite place in Europe (well Paris is a favourite too) Salzburg.  Salzburg is every bit as magical as it in photos.  We were lucky enough to see it all dressed in white in Janaury.  We will be in Salzburg at the end of December to discover their wonderful Christmas markets (shown below). .............We might even bring back some wonderful Mozart Chocolate as a giveaway!

We just couldn't resist Stockholm!

OK we did promise not to change our itinerary but yes we have!  To travel as far north as Oslo and not visit the design capital of the world seemed like a crime, so yes, Stockholm is on the list!

We have long been collectors of vintage Scandinavian textiles and have purchase many over the years from Sweden, so we are very excited to be visiting. 

The gorgeous goodies above are from a design store in Stockholm which is definately on the list!  Would be nice to pick up a few contacts for fabrics for our Funky Fabrix store!

Christmas Markets........

 Our first night's stay is going to be in the small French town of Colmar, near the border of Germany in the Alsace region.
